Our Abdominal Ultrasounds protocol adheres to the guidance provided in the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) July 2022 “ACVR and ECVDI consensus statement for the standardization of the abdominal ultrasound examination”. We acknowledge the ACVR as the leading experts in veterinary ultrasound and follow their guidance for each of our studies.
A typical exam captures between 60-80 static images and cine loops (video clips). Each organ, and all pathology is documented with annotations. We use B-Mode (2D), color and power Doppler and measurements as needed to aid in identification and diagnosis.
These images demonstrate some of the different organs and modes we use when imaging the abdomen. This is not a complete study.
The referring veterinarian has the option of selecting either an ACVR Radiologist or ACVIM Internal Medicine specialist to review the case and write the report. Please click here to review sample reports.
